Error: "Invalid File"

Invalid file error when submitting ROE to the CRA

This error is mainly due to an invalid Payroll ID number or the Employee SIN number format being incorrect.

Update the Payroll Number

  1. In payroll, click the Settings menu to the left

  2. Click Tax Settings

  3. Verify the CRA Payroll number format is correct (example below)

  4. Make changes, then generate a new ROE. You can delete any previously created since they have invalid information
